There is no ONE WAY to do life

I love this reminder so much.

Getting caught up in finding or sticking to the one right answer/solution (in your opinion) can cause so many problems.

We can become stubborn and indignant. We can refuse to hear other people’s thoughts, ideas, and opinions. We shut out and shut down on what others have to say and miss out on suggestions and solutions that may work out better than our own idea.

We can become fixated on the one possibility “saving us” from whatever situation we find ourself in. If this one thing does not come to pass, we are sad, depressed, feel like a failure, think the world is over, give up.

Our short-sighted perspective and attachment to our own idea means we are unable to be flexible and handle what comes next.

When we are open to possibilities, when we come up with many solutions for a given problem, we are unattached, flexible, and much more creative when it comes to solving problems.

Creativity is not just for arts and crafts. Being creative in our problem solving allows us to move and flow and adapt to life rather than cling to how “it’s supposed to be” (a thought that causes most of our own unhappiness and dissatisfaction).

Forget finding the “right” answer, practice coming up with many answers, try some out, experiment, train your brain that the path of life is unpredictable and what worked once may not work again.

Let go of your resistance, get creative and see what happens next. You can handle it when you have options.
